Theme : Zodiac signs 11e

5/12 Year of the Snake (2001)

After a very beautiful sheet in 2000, the 2001 sheet is a bit less spectacular, but still it deserves its place in the hall of fame of special sheets. The sixth sign of the asian zodiac is the Snake.

People born in the Year of the Snake are seductive, gregarious, introverted, generous, charming, analytical, insecure, jealous, slightly dangerous, smart, and good with money. They rely on gut feelings, are hard-working and intelligent.

The Snake: There are few animals with more symbolic associations than the snake. Chinese mythology holds that a half-human snake was the father of the Chinese emperors. They are associated with beauty and wisdom, esoteric knowledge and spiritual discovery.
Snake people will face danger fearlessly and deal with unforeseen disasters. They are not annoyed by lack of money and are usually lucky enough to own everything they need.  They can be successful as long as they avoid excess spending.  Although they are intuitive, they should avoid dive right into decisions without weighing the consequences.

Canada 2001 - Year of the Snake

Similar to the 2000 sheet, the sheet contains only one stamp, but the image is copied and two snakes are facing eachother. One as a stamp, the other as decoration.
