Odd stamps : 03e 3D stamps (moving)

Among the numerous issues on Queen Elisabeth, I have picked up a special issue featuring 3D images.
New Zealand - where QE II is still the head of State - honoured the British monarch with a solid sheet, with 3 stamps of 5 NZ$ each.
The stamps have the shape of an old style painting, and can be 'pushed out' of the sheet.
Each of the stamps has 3 different images, which can be seen alternately by flipping the stamps to the back or the front.
As it is nearly impossible to scan those images in a decent way, I took the liberty to take the images from another site : http://philatelynews.com/.

When flipped to the back, we see a photo taken in 1926, 1936 and 1947.
1926 : "Birth of a princess"
1936 : "Childhood in London"
1947 : "The royal wedding"
3D sheet NZ 2016 - flipped to the back
The normal frontal vieuw, shows pictures taken in 1949, 1963 and 1977.
1949 : "Family time with Prince Charles"
1963 : "Opening New Zealand's parliament"
1977 : "Royal visit to New Zealand"
3D sheet NZ 2016 - frontal view
Finally, flipped to the front, another 3 pictures can be seen, from 1995, 2002 and 2015.
1995 : "Royal visit to New Zealand"
2002 : "Royal visit to New Zealand"
2015 : "Attending Anzac centenary commemorations"
3D sheet NZ 2016 - flipped to the front
Not sure if many of those stamps will end on a letter or postcard from New Zealand, but for the collectors of QE II - stamps, surely a splendid addition to their collection.

Odd stamps : 08 Stamps with special cuts - 02 h

I'ts been agaes since I posted something on triangular stamps.
They do exist, and they are still produced, but somehow we hardly see them on letters.

Although this post isn't about a recently issued sheet, (1997), it's more then special.
I didn't know if I had to post it under 'special stamps' or 'special sheets' as both apply here.

New Zealand - triangular sheet with triangular stamps

It's a triangular sheet, with 4 triangular stamps in it.
Each stamp is repeated twice, so there are only 2 different stamps.

40 cents
80 cents

The sheet was issued for the Wold Philatelic Exhibition 'Pacific '97'. It celebrates the centenary of the first pigeon-gram. At the bottom of the sheet, the flight of a pigeon is drawn.

To be or not to be : CTO - The difficult ones 04 f

In order to complete my review of CTO items, let's have a look what is 'available' in Asia and Australia.

Two very nice sheets from Malaysia, they don't really look CTO at first sight, ...
but if you happen to have more then one sheet, you'll find out that they are all cancelled the same way, place and date :(
Even more (see the second picture) at the back of the (unused) sheet, an extra cancel was made : NOT FOR SALE.... claiming that the stamps are for philatelistic use only...
Malaysia has very nice stamps, and is worth collecting as a country as well as for thematic collections, but CTO does not belong to that collection.
Of course, to get those stamps 'postally used'.... you'll need to do a lot of effort (at least when you're living outside of Malaysia)

A closer look to some Australian and New Zealand issues,
Great cancels, perfectly in the middle, or on a nice souvenir sheet...
Too perfect to be 'perfect'...
Indeed all CTO cancels made by philatelistic bureaus, to 'please' the collectors.
Or cancelled the first day of issue (but not postally used)

Finally to the Pacific, a relatively new country, that hardly has mail leaving to the rest of the world, Marshall Islands. But due to the high demand of the beautiful stamps, many CTO cancelled stamps are spread worldwide...
