To be or not to be : CTO - The difficult ones 04 f

In order to complete my review of CTO items, let's have a look what is 'available' in Asia and Australia.

Two very nice sheets from Malaysia, they don't really look CTO at first sight, ...
but if you happen to have more then one sheet, you'll find out that they are all cancelled the same way, place and date :(
Even more (see the second picture) at the back of the (unused) sheet, an extra cancel was made : NOT FOR SALE.... claiming that the stamps are for philatelistic use only...
Malaysia has very nice stamps, and is worth collecting as a country as well as for thematic collections, but CTO does not belong to that collection.
Of course, to get those stamps 'postally used'.... you'll need to do a lot of effort (at least when you're living outside of Malaysia)

A closer look to some Australian and New Zealand issues,
Great cancels, perfectly in the middle, or on a nice souvenir sheet...
Too perfect to be 'perfect'...
Indeed all CTO cancels made by philatelistic bureaus, to 'please' the collectors.
Or cancelled the first day of issue (but not postally used)

Finally to the Pacific, a relatively new country, that hardly has mail leaving to the rest of the world, Marshall Islands. But due to the high demand of the beautiful stamps, many CTO cancelled stamps are spread worldwide...

  2. Hi, thanks for your comment.
Indeed the stamps of Malaysia are genuine, unfortunatly, the cancel has been made in order to sell the stamps as 'used'. I have several copies of that sheetlet, which is of course beautiful, but i don't have a postally used copy.
